Roger and his wife Christine founded and ran Cardiff open air theatre company in the 1970's and 80's. The company performed theater for children in Roath Park and the new theatre, Cardiff and on tour in Wales for ten years. It is to their credit that they gave many performers their first chance at professional acting and gave so much work to Welsh actors. Also, Roger managed to convince director Schlesinger that he was an American - winning a small part in the film "Yanks".
