Morgan Jones

Was the main power in the building of the railway system in Texas. Without him Fort Worth would be a minor town and Denver, Colorado would not be linked to the Gulf of Mexico.

Connection: Born in Tregynon near Newtown, 1839. Died in Abilene, Texas, 1926.

Became known as Colonel Morgan Jones. Very much a recluse (a la Howard Hughes) and yet was a major figure in developing Texas into an industrial power.
