I have had the wonderful opportunity to enjoy David Alexander's talent since 1989. I am from Conwy, North Wales. I am currently living in Philadelphia USA but continue to listen to his music. I had the pleasure of meeting David on a number of occasions and was so taken with his amazing voice and kind heart. I have all of his tapes and CD's and love watching the video he made over and over. I will always have such warm memories of the time I saw David and he will forever have a special place in my heart.
Sadly missed by my wife and I. We met him in Fleetwood in 1988, what a star. P.S. thanks to Billy Butler from radio Merseyside who first played David on radio, if I am not mistaken. Gone but not forgotten. God bless.
David Alexander's brother, Mike, is now singing some of David's most popular songs and appeared as Paul Child's special guest in Paul's theatre tour of 2003.
Does anybody know which song and album contain the following lyrics: In an old old cottage with roses round the door a girl receives a letter from a boy whose in the war and as she reads that letter the tears fell from her eyes why should I weep, why should I cry my love is asleep so far away. Trying to track it down to buy for my mother who remembers the tune but not the name. Please reply if you can help.
I am English through and through but when you hear the voice of David sing about the Welsh valleys it makes you wish that you where there - Kudos to Ray on that, Ed.
I was introduced to David about three years ago by a friend, she bought me a CD of his , I haven?t looked back. Being Welsh i think he was better than Tom Jones he just wasn?t there at the right time, best wishes to his wife ,who must be lost without him.
I met David in player Los Americas and loved his voice 1993 and just found out he has died. We think he was one of the best singers to come out of Wales. I brought the disc if I never sing another song, well we now live in Zia on the island of Kos, Greece and would like to meet any fans who visit our lovely island. God bless David.
I first heard of David when I went to Benidorm last year. I walked into a bar and heard this singer in the background music the song was my love I couldn't sit down till I found out who this person was the act that was on was having a break at the time so I asked who singer was and he told me I asked if I could buy the disc he was playing and he agreed and I've been a fan since. I only found out today that he has died that is so sad to know.
