Maureen first became known as a singer on the Woolworth's 'Embassy' label. Covers of well known tunes of the day. She was soon noticed and became a singer in her own right and was signed to the 'Oriole' label and later to CBS. Her big hit in 1962 was 'Like I do' which reached number three in the top ten. Other hits included 'The Big Hurt', 'Paper Roses' and 'I love how you love me' Maureen was a frequent guest on 1960's TV shows like 'Morecambe and Wise' Maureen is now happily married to Roy and runs a stage school in Wales. Had a number of hits in the top twenty in the early 1960s. Born and still lives in Cardiff.

I thought she was a 'one hit wonder' about 1965 with a song called 'Like I do'.

I remember Maureen singing in Llandudno, in the fifties. She was very young then and sang with the Waldini Open Air Theatre on the Happy Valley.

I believe I am related to Maureen Evans on my maternal side. My mothers father Thomas Evans was I think cousin of Maureen. If anyone knows of any relations of Maureen's please contact me using the free Famous Welsh MesasgePad service.
