Colin clarke was, in 1987, rumoured to be having an affair with Joanne Catherall, one of the female singers in "The Human League". Clarke had worked with the band when writing the hit songs "Don't you want me baby" and "Human". Colin denied these rumours although Catherall declined to comment. The story never made the headlines due to Clarke not being a recognizable celebrity name. Details of the affair are not clear. Clarke remarried his ex-wife, Janine in 1988.
