Her mother Marie has Welsh descent. Leona was born 3rd April 1985 in Islington, London, England. Her father is Guyanese Afro-Caribbean. As well as winning the 2006 British X Factor talent series she was nominated for four Brit awards, in the categories British female solo artist, British breakthrough act, British album for spirit and British single. Despite being the favorite to win the most awards she received none! She seems to be a very grounded and beautiful young woman with (like most Welsh people) much talent and will be a huge star in the USA and Canada!
