World War One air fighter ace. Known as Ira 'Taffy' Jones. D. S. O. , M. C. , D. F. C. And Bar, M. M. Author of an air-fighter's scrapbook (1938) 'Tiger Squadron' (1954) a history of RAF 74 (tiger) squadron.

Connection: Born 18th april 1896, in Llanddowror, near Staint Clears, Carmarthenshire. Died Morriston Hospital in 1960.
